Journal - Where are you right now on your "Who Do You Think You Are" project? What did you do over the break for the project? Did you interview anyone? Use the checklist below to figure out what you have finished, what you are still working on and what you still have to do.

I didn't really do much on break but take pictures of my relative and family. I have not interviewed anyone due to then not having time. I still have to do my interviews and finish up prezi, then do ,the Infographic of your Family using Piktochart (or another tool you have discovered),Five-Frame Storyboard OR Stop Motion Animation video.

Journal - How did you stop motion animation turn out? If you could give it a grade, what would you give it out of 60 points? What did you learn from creating this video?

Sloppy, the camera was shifting  a bit. i'll give it about a 45/60. I learn how much time is put into a 30 minute cartoon,way to much.

Journal - How far along are you on your stop motion animation? What did you do over the weekend to work on you stop motion animation? Do you have all your pictures today? Will you have all your pictures by the end of the hour? Give me a detailed updated.

I've taken my pics i have approximately 96 photos or something like that. I made my object and begin taking photos of the creation I have chosen, In which I have changed my idea that i would be on a notebook the laptop. Yes I have all my pictures today. I need to edit most of them to be more visual.

I'm planning on doing the game of PAC man. My story will be of someone playing the game PAC man. It will be fun because it is going to be made of construction paper. Champale, my self will be the photographer  I will be taking my photos when i am done making the bored.

Journal - What photo editing tool(s) have you used so far on your 5 photos project? Do you like the tool? Is it easy to use? Hard to use? What's good about it? Whats bad about it? Give a detailed review of the tool.

I have used fotoflexer, perfect 360, and pixlr for all 5 of my pictures. I love the fotoflexer one the best,its very easy to use and quick i which you can change the effects to only one section of the picture and not just the whole thing. I like how you can basically do anything you want to the picture as if its right in front of you.

Journal - What are the pros and cons to photo editing? What are some examples of when photo editing is fun and appropriate? When can photo editing be inappropriate or too much?

The Pro's can be you can change the looks of the way one looks. You can take out things in a photo that does not look right or you would not like displayed in the picture. The cons can be that you don't look the way you did/do in person. People can also add someone in the picture that isn't really there. Photo editing can be fun when its not changing an appearance. It can be too much when some one edit the picture to make them look bigger or smaller, like drastically change a body part. People in the media change the way they look drastically in pictures, from airbrushing to face-lifts. They  look like a completely different person even some people look like a different nationality.

Journal - What makes a presentation memorable? What makes a presentation stand out and not boring? How are you going to make your presentation better than anyone else? How will you make it unique? Explain.

The creativity put into their presentation. When they add or do something that no other presentation have done before.  I'm going to make my presentation really funky and weird, since weird means different. I will make it Unique by applying certain Effects. Well I would hope to have a cool transformation slides and allot of color displayed on my power points.

Journal - What did you learn from the Ted Talk yesterday? Did you find it interesting or accurate? Explain.

I've learned how our posterity is slowly becoming more and more dependent on technology than ever before. Not only did I find it interesting ,but I also found it accurate. Personally I cant go more than 20 minutes without looking at my phone, I sleep with my phone, and I do everything with my phone. Phones are the biggest contribute to this complication. Phones are making people become anti-social, unable to carry out a conversation, people rather text than to talk. Phones aren't helping the posterity.

Journal - What do you love about the "digital age" that we currently live in? What do you dislike about it? What are positives ways you use technology in your life? What are some things that come along with technology that you don't like? Explain.

I'm not quite sure what digital age is. I don't know what I dislike about it, since I do not know what it is. I use technology every moment of the day i use the computer, tablet, my phone, radio, and TV. I don't like when I don't have a signal or how my battery drains so quickly other than those little negativity I'm fine with technology

Journal - Tell me about your Homecoming weekend (whether you went to the activities or not!). Tell me about what you did over the weekend.
I went to Homecoming, it was worst then last year but the decorations were better by far. The DJ was so lame. The cookies were AMAZING. I ripped some streamers that i was jumping through. I picked my dress and things out the last minute. Then on Sunday I did absolutely nothing other than clean my room.

Journal - Most students view siting work as 'a pain in the butt'. How do you feel about it? Is it necessary? When is it appropriate to cite work? What's the importance of it?

I feel like its stupid since it's not my work that been stolen, but if it was my work being stolen I  would want it to be cited. Citing is necessary, because the work is not your own therefore you have to give the other person credit unless that's consider plagiarism; theft of another person's writings or ideas. Although citing is still a pain in the butt.

Journal - What is your favorite book, magazine, or publication? Why?

My favorite book would have to be Snot Stew or Winter Girls.  Snot stew is by Bill Wallace and is basically about cat and a dog fighting and not getting along. Then Winter Girls is basically about Laurie Halse Anderson and it is about Two girls making a pact to be the skinniest girl. They have eating disorders, so they become wintergirls; there not dead but there not alive. I choose these books to be my favorite because Snot Stew is so funny while Wintergirls is a little more serious.

I enjoy writing as long as I"m not writing for a grade. I love to write if its just for fun. I enjoy writing Mysteries and fantasy stories. I also enjoy writing Songs,Poetry and stuff like in that genre. Writing is an essential skill in life ,because you have to write to be able to do pretty much anything. You have to write to get a job, Texting, School work...etc. I will use this skill in the future by getting a job, I would have to fill out an application which requires writing.

Journal - What is creating an outline for a paper important? Do you think it helps you personally? How would you prefer to outline a paper - pen and paper or an online tool? Is there a different way you know if that would prefer to organize your thoughts?

Creating an outline is important for a paper since it formats your paper, so that you can have everything in a particular order. Basically an outline helps keep your paper organized.  An outline can help me personally sometimes, but not all the time. I would rather stick to the old fashion way and use my pen and paper, although i perfer pencil.

This weekend I didn't go to school, So therefore I had more time to spend on doing what ever I wanted which was absolutely nothing. I just stayed in my house unless went to story with others. I rarely watch T.v. I'm more of a music type of girl. I usually spend most of my time outdoors doing something athletic like riding my bike, running, or walking Anything that involves me moving.

I look up to Michael Jackson, because he was always looking out for people regardless of what you may think. His songs actually had meaning in life than just B.S that is playing on the radio now. He inspired me to make a difference, and from that I  have change from the person I once was.

Journal - What is good email etiquette and why is it essential in the "real" world? How can having good email etiquette put you ahead?


Good email etiquette is when you have more than just one sentence asking the person you are sending exactly what you want instead or formatting it appropriately. This is essential in the "real" world  because when you ask people questions in person, your say whats going on then you ask for what you wont. Having good email etiquette puts you ahead because people would rather read a pretty email than to read a sloppy one sentenced one.

Journal - If there was one big global issue in the world that you could fix, what would it be? A cure for cancer? Save the rain forest? Stop pollution? Think about it and then write about it. Why would you choose that specific issue?


I would find a cure for cancer, because people in my family have it and I see cancer as a punishment for everybody that has it and the people around them that care and love them. No one wants to have cancer. Cancer is the disease caused by an uncontrolled division of abnormal cells in a part of the body. Cancer can be very deadly, so if there was a way for us to prevent people from having it why not figure a cure out to help people who struggles with it.

Journal - On Friday we discussed Public Service Announcements. In your own words tell me what they are and what their purpose is. If you could create a PSA what would your topic be? Why?

A public service announcement is a message carried through media that tells people what exactly is going on like for example it could be an amber alert on a missing child. A Public service announcement can be displayed through radio, television, computer, and etc.  Public  service annoucement come in handy when you need to get information from point A to point B quickly, It fast and can be very brief. It always you to get enough information to know what going on.

Journal - What are your hobbies and extra curricular activities? Where do you spend your free time? Tell me three of your favorite things (movies, TV show, magazine, sport, color, etc.)

My hobbies are to mimic people, Change my voice,  laughing, and alot more. I unfortunately don't play any extra-curricular activities, but I was going to go out for tennis but I changed my mind and I didn't have a physical so that ended that for me. I spend most of my free time in my room or outside. Three of my favorite things is especially to laugh, I love love to laugh even at stuff that i shouldn't laugh about. I also like to cook, cooking is so fun especially how you can just throw stuff together and see how it comes out. I also love to play on my phone, I'm nothing without my phone

Journal - What are some qualities of a good presentation? How can you make a boring presentation interesting? Explain.

The qualities of presenting a good presentation is that you need to act like you know what your talking about at all times, there shouldn't be any "umms" at all you should have already rehearse your presentation therefore not having any umms. There also should be eye contact, your audience wont listen to you if your not showing eye contact. You should also have a good diction/voice  if your voice is too low, your audience wont hear you therefore they will not be able to listen and focus in on what your doing. If you don't have good diction the people wont be able to understand anything your sating, it'll be too hard to follow. You need to be fun about the presentation and not lame and boring like some teachers.

Journal - Tell me if you agree with this statement and then explain why or why not. "Images on the internet are 'free game' - if someone posted I should be able to use it."

Yes! I feel like images are "free game" as long as you are citing your picture, letting everyone know it isn't your own work. I mean like if anyone posted a picture and doesn't claim it, why not claim it? Certain pictures are claimed like on Google  they all have a copyright label, But i can see both ways any picture that inst claimed shouldn't be stolen there still needs to be some specific credit to the  person.

Journal - What is the importance of online safety and protecting your information? What do you do to protect yourself online? Share an experience you or someone you know has had with online safety.


The importance of online safety and protecting your information is that strangers cant contact you, and begin to stalk you therefore leading to more dangerous conflicts. Online safety is a very serious situation if you not too careful you chances of becoming a victim is highly possible. I personally Use my middle name, check the available privacy setting I can possibly have, so if someone did try to track me there chances of finding me will be very slim.Well on Degrassi (a teenage TV show that talks about things in high school) A girl of the name Darcy was having some issues with boys, so she went to online dating. She thought she was dating a man her age as he say he was, but really he turned out to be a 30 year old man that showed up at her house unannounced. He wasnt going to leave without hanging with Darcy. Darcy ended up having to call the Police.

Journal Prompt- After watching the short clip of Ashton Kutcher's acceptance speech what did you take away from his advice? What does this quote mean to you -"Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you, and you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use."

That no one person is smarter than the other and that everything around you was made up by someone like you. So don't sell yourself short, because every one is capable of the same accomplishments. Any one person can come up with any great accomplishment no matter how dumb or smart you think you are, because every person is capable of making great achievements it just matters how much you apply your self  to see a positive achievement.
